Reluctantly, identity-chameleon operative Isabel Roma arrives at the Morgan team’s compound to visit mercenary operative Trevor Callaghan. Alpha and sensitive, widower Trevor knew calling Isabel a coward would get her to explain why she vanished from his life. The attraction steams off the pages, but meaningful discussion is put on hold when the compound is attacked and some of Trevor’s companions are killed. The mercenaries regroup with Isabel’s boss, the ruthless Nicole, as tension—sexual and competitive—rears its head in unexpected twists. Seamlessly weaving the romance into the mission storyline, Trevor and Isabel continue their two-steps-forward, one-step-back relationship, peeling away clothes and emotional barriers until a last-minute mission change offers them a final challenge.
