      In Baggott's laceratingly inventive Pure, in which those not safely under the Dome at the apocalyptic moment have been permanently fused to whatever was at hand, Partridge defied his father, Dome master Willux, by escaping to the wider world. Here, Willux goes to evil lengths to get him back. Exceptional writing, even if you're wearying of dystopian fiction; Fox 2000 has bought rights for the entire trilogy.
