My Detailed Style • Elena discusses her art and her love for still lifes.

Australian Shepherd • A glorious Australian Shepherd is the study for this demonstration.

The Art of Eltham • A small country town in Victoria is home to this clever lady who likes to do some form of creative work each day … evening if that simply means reading a book about art.

Colour Burst • So lifelike you can almost smell their enchanting scent … these roses rendered in soft and hard pastels invite you to treasure their colourful beauty.

Elizabeth Guzsely Gallery • Quality art galleries are located all over this country, hosting and promoting the works of Australia’s diverse exponents of art. Artist’s Palette magazine showcases a broad selection of these venues. In this Issue, we focus on Cooktown’s Elizabeth Guzsely Gallery and the Cooktown School of Art Society Inc.

Back to the Drawing Board • Kevin gives some wonderful tips on getting back to the basics.

Jane • Captured in pencil, this monotone portrait is a delight.

The Pleasure of Creating • Photography plays a very important role in the artistic inspiration of this talented lady. She rarely goes anywhere without her camera, and she invariably sees something she can photograph for reference for a new work of art.

‘What a Deer’ • Scratch art is relatively unknown in Australia – although it is becoming more popular overseas, particularly in the United States of America.

Freckle • Fabulous furry Freckle comes to life in this wonderful scratchboard art project.

The Not-So-Humble Pencil! • Artists today have an enormous array of choices to help create their artworks. We’re delighted to share an amazing selection of pencils that are currently available.

Hours of Observing • This lady believes that few artists have lucky breaks. Success requires buckets of discipline and plenty of hard work … but she stresses that if you are really passionate about creating, you should do it for the right reasons.

Endeavour Evening Glow • This is one of the artist’s very favourite views in Cooktown. She knows it well. She has spent many hours at this spot enjoying the changing light and colours of the different seasons and weather patterns.

Master Pastellist • With no desire to produce a photographic record of his subject matter, this talented man likes to contemporise the landscape beyond a realist approach … and still retain a conceptual delusion of reality.

Yeppoon Ebb • Within days of it being finished, this painting gained a Commended award in the ‘Pastel of the Year’ at the Pastel Society of Australia end of year competition.

Shelena Russell Galleries • Wonderful art galleries are located all over this country, hosting and promoting the work of Australia’s diverse exponents of art. Artist’s Palette magazine showcases a broad selection of these venues. In this Issue, we look at what is described as ‘The Heart of Art’ on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
